A six-year-old school kid died on the spot after he fell down from a moving school van in Pandavapura on 23rd January. Is this a wake up call to Mysore Police? We see over crowded school autos every day in Mysore and Mysore Police show a blind eye towards the dangers they can pose for the school children. Mysore city Police Commissioner gave a warning a year ago that he will take action against such auto drivers but auto drivers seem to have ignored the warning. Perhaps Mysore janata got used to warnings from Police departments as they are just like promises from our netas. There is a saying in Kannada "ooru kolle hoda mele diddi bagilikkidaru' that means they closed the main door of the fort after the entire village got robbed. When a child dies in Bangalore due to stray dog bite, mysore city corporation wakes up and start catching the stray dogs and start sterilising them. They do it for a day or two and then they go back to heir routine. When Mumbai or Delhi sees a terror strike we see a sudden alertness in Mysore Police and Polie become very vigilant for a day or two. Then life becomes normal for them too. It is time for Mysore Police to wake up and start taking action against such autos who risk kids' lives. Don't wait for mysore kid to become a victim of your inaction. | |
