Rajshekar Koti

Rajshekar Koti is one name that stands apart in the firmament of Kannada Journalism. Serving the society for over four decades as a journalist, he is the man responsible for the genesis and growth of Andolana daily. He is known for his column 'Iddaddu Iddhanga' wherein he proves his ability to call a spade a spade on a regular basis.

He was introduced to journalism during his student life itself, as he worked for Patil Puttappa's newspapers Prapancha and Vishwa Vani. Whenever there are disasters, Koti makes it a point that he along with his medium contribute for the cause. Funds are collected from the readers and handed over to victims. Be it the Gujarat earthquake, Kargil War, or Tsunami, Koti has always raised to the occasion. He spend a part of the newspaper's revenue for the cause of developmental works. He was the person behind the construction of 19 bus stops in Mysore and Mandya districts, besides helping school children in and around the district in many ways. He has been associated with Rotary Mysore West and Lions Icon organizations for several years.

He has held the office as the president of the Mysore District Journalists' Association for two consecutive terms. He has also served as a member of the Karnataka Madhyama Academy thrice.

He has received honours such as the Karnataka Madhyama Academy Award, H K Veerannagowda Award, Satyakama Award, Rotary Supreme Award, Murughashree Award, Janamitra Award and of course the prestigious Rajyotsava Award.
