Mutton in green masala


Ingredients

1. 1 kg mutton cut into medium sized pieces
2. Milk of 1 whole coconut - extract thick and thin milk and keep it separately
3. 1 cup curds
4. 10 green chillies + 2 red long chillies
5. 1tbsp coriander seeds
6. 1tsp jeera seeds
7. 5 cloves
8. 2 inch pieces cinnamon
9. 4 pepper corn
10. 2 inch piece of ginger
11. 2 sliced onion
12. 4 flakes of garlic
13. 1 bunch each of coriander leaves and mint leaves
14. 1 tsp poppy seeds
15. ½ tsp turmeric powder
16. 50 gms cashew nut paste
17. 1 big onion sliced
18. 2 big tomatoes chopped into small pieces
19. 1 tbsp ghee

Grind to fine paste ingredient No. 4 - 15 and keep aside.

Method:

Boil mutton with sliced onion, tomatoes thin coconut milk and salt to taste
Heat ghee and fry the ground masala till oil oozes out of it. Add cashew paste and fry for 2 - 3 minutes. Add the cooked mutton and stir and bring to boil. Check the salt and add more if required. Now reduce the heat and add the thick coconut milk and simmer for 2 -3 minutes. Finally add the curds, stir well and put of the gas.

Tip: the same masala can be used to make chicken and egg green curry.
